OK, now we're completely creeped out

The more we learn about Harriet Miers, the less inclined we are to support her sitting on the SCOTUS. Her qualifications are dubious, and the prospect that she'd simply be a proxy vote for W is scary. We're not sure all this posturing by wingnuts isn't just for show. We'll find out when they count the votes, assuming the nomination actually makes it that far. You know any replacement would be a worse extremist. But being a suck-up to such a vacuous dolt doesn't inspire confidence:

AUSTIN, Tex., Oct. 10 - "You are the best governor ever - deserving of great respect," Harriet E. Miers wrote to George W. Bush days after his 51st birthday in July 1997. She also found him "cool," said he and his wife, Laura, were "the greatest!" and told him: "Keep up the great work. Texas is blessed."
