He's probably right

Jon Chait:

The Medicare drug plan is the perfect issue for Democrats to run on. It perfectly encapsulates the corruption of Republican Washington, and it's a concrete thing that voters can relate to. Running on this issue makes so much sense that naturally the Democrats won't do it.

We're glad the LATimes gave Chait a column. At least people read the Times.

Not sure they won't. Recent article on Ark News Bureau shows the current cost of the mess to the state in the millions (already) and also shows alarm from the pharmacists who say the mess could result in the closure of 40 percent of all the state's pharmacies (mom and pop?) -- the recent visit by Mike Leavitt didn't do diddly squat for the problem...Huck pressed for details on reimbursement, got blown off by Leavitt. Guess he didn't press hard enough...again, mess reminds me of the way the govt. responded to Katrina...too little, too late, too high a human and business cost...freakin' nuts running the show.
