Better late than never

Or something.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush, reacting to the indictment of a high-level White House aide in the CIA leak case, has ordered his staff to get a refresher on ethics rules.
In a memo sent to all White House aides on Friday, the counsel's office said it will hold briefings next week on ethics, with a particular focus on the rules governing the handling of classified information. Attendance is mandatory for anyone holding any level of security clearance.

After five years and one indictment, we guess you need a refresher. Sorry Val and Joe.

Yeah, at a place where I once worked, somebody got sued for sexual harrassment by a disgruntled employee. Case was blown out of court as a sham, but the company made everybody sit though a Saturday "refresher course" on company policy.

    It was just awful.

But the reason I bring it up is that everybody was shooting daggers at the guy who got sued, even though he was innocent. Nobody sat next to him. Nobody talked to him. We were all just so pissed that we had to blow a Saturday for the entertainment equivalent of a defensive driving class.

I just have that image of Rove during this class.

(Let me say that sexual harrassment is indeed a serious and real problem. I don't want to paint it as not one. But the specifics of this case were unique and I don't think it's worth going into them here.)
