Too little, too late

He should be fired -- period. Chertoff, too.

WASHINGTON -- Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Michael Brown is being relieved of his command of the Bush administration's Hurricane Katrina onsite relief efforts, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff announced Friday.
He will be replaced by Coast Guard Vice Adm. Thad W. Allen, who was overseeing New Orleans relief and rescue efforts, Chertoff said.

How incompetent are they?

Gov. Mike Huckabee spent part of Thursday afternoon in a conference call with county and city leaders throughout the state to discuss issues related to the evacuees. He said a FEMA representative had called his office Wednesday asking if the state had any evacuees.
There are an estimated 75,000 evacuees in the state, and no more are expected, he said.
