CNN becoming part of the story

Over at CJR Daily, Liz Cox Barrett shares my distaste for reporters reporting on themselves:

CJR Daily often faults cable news shows for not giving viewers enough information -- skimping on context, allowing talking points to go unchallenged, simplifying complex issues. Yesterday, however, CNN provided too much information.
They aired their own dirty laundry -- literally.

Ugh. We part ways on the use of "-- literally" ledes. Oh, well.

Arrrrgh! Pet peeve! Pet peeve! What is happening to language usage? Peope are saying exactly the OPPOSITE of what they mean!

Another example of this that just sticks in my craw is "I could care less..." No, you dolt, you mean you could NOT care less, meaning that you care not at all. If you COULD care less, then you DO care some, get it?

    Makes my nuts. Literally.
